Belong – The Cohesion and Integration Network, was set up by Shalni Arora and Ted Cantle post Brexit and post the Manchester Arena bombing as a membership network to encourage the building of stronger, better integrated communities.
The aim of the Belong Network is to create a more integrated, less divided society and strengthen good relations across difference. Belong offers academic research, consultancy, training, networking, thought leadership and events on social cohesion for members across the public, private and charitable sector.
Shalni was a Commissioner on Mayor Burnham’s commission on tackling violent extremism and with the support of Manchester City Council, Belong was founded in Manchester. Recent publications, news and updates can be found at www.belongnetwork.co.uk.
