Her Untapped Potential – Pilot & Report Brief Launched 8 March 2019, International Women’s Day #InternationalWomensDay

Savannah Wisdom Foundation launches on International Women’s Day 2019 a pilot scheme in Manchester schools to improve future employment opportunities for BAME girls.

The schools programme has been developed by Savannah Wisdom over two years based on a working research project which has especially included interviews with girls of South Asian heritage across the North West about their experiences and aspirations, and also experts in education, employment and the voluntary sector.

The pilot entitled Her Untapped Potential is delivered in partnership in Greater Manchester. It will offer girls of South Asian heritage in two schools the opportunity to join a skills development programme to plan for their future employment with support from their families and teachers.

Her Untapped Potential marks the next stage of Savannah Wisdom’s investment in the North West to achieve social and economic inclusion and increase the social mobility of BAME girls and women. Our work aims to contribute to achieving a more diverse workforce, and increasing community cohesion and integration. A briefing report also entitled Her Untapped Potential is also published today to support the pilot and can be found here: A briefing report from Savannah Wisdom Foundation – Her Untapped Potential

“I am delighted that our philanthropic work in the North West has reached this point when we can start to work in partnership to begin to improve employment opportunities for BAME girls.” Shalni Arora, CEO of Savannah Wisdom Foundation
