The foundation makes grants to individuals, projects and organisations that qualify as charitable in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. We look for projects that are innovative, creative, courageous and address the root causes of a problem rather than the symptoms. We believe in taking a risk and funding social innovation and challenging work at the edge. We do not believe in being a substitute for government funding such as the provision of basic education, health and welfare, but aim to make our contribution to the evolution of society and to progressive social change. Therefore we are happy to fund projects that are seen as risky, that take a radical approach or address new, untested concerns. Change can be achieved by building constituencies that empower civil society and offer social protection mechanisms.
Savannah Wisdom uses its resources to work in partnership with organisations where we feel we can add value. Savannah Wisdom does not accept unsolicited grants.
